		<description>&lt;i&gt;The Girlfriends&#039; Guide to Pregnancy&lt;/i&gt; was a fun read &#8212; light, quick, but good for covering the basics before you wade into some of the heftier tomes like &lt;i&gt;What to Expect When You&#039;re Expecting&lt;/i&gt; or any of the Sears &amp; Sears stuff.

I&#039;d also highly recommend Anne Lamott&#039;s &lt;i&gt;Operating Instructions&lt;/i&gt;, the best nonfiction account of parenting ever (&quot;I thought it would be more like getting a cat&quot;).</description>
